The IHM School Advisory Council (SAC) provides advice and counsel to the school administration regarding the operation of the school. Divided into committees focusing on Mission Effectiveness, Finance, Development, Public Relations and Marketing, Advocacy, Technology and Facilities, it provides leadership and coordination of all committee functions and responsibilities, and acts as a liaison between the school administration and the committees. Parents are welcome to contact members of the School Advisory Council regarding areas covered by the board committees or areas of the school in general. However, the Council does not make policy, works solely in an advisory capacity, and has no role in hiring, evaluation, or decisions regarding personnel.
The School Advisory Council meets five times a year (September, November, January, March, and May). With the guidance of the council, new SAC members are appointed by the principal and approved by the Archbishop. SAC members each serve three year terms. In order to ensure continuity from year to year, the terms are staggered so only one third of SAC members roll off at the end of any given year. The pastor, principal, and Superintendent of the Catholic Schools serve as ex-officio members of the School Advisory Council.
